‘Pride of Europe’ is a stunning new Tulipa, that is ready to flower from April until May. It produces bundles of yellow rimmed, bright red blooms, that cloak a clump forming habit of fresh green foliage. A beautiful cut flower and cottage garden addition, be sure to also dot throughout borders and patio pots for a pop of colour. Keep positioned in semi shade and watch it progress to a height of 60cm, along with a spread of 20cm. Tulip ‘Pride of Europe’ is a classic single tulip with brilliant crimson petals and broad margins in a contrasting yellow-gold. Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6″) and at a distance of 13cm (5″) apart.
