This Cordyline produces fabulous, variegated foliage in shades of popping pink and olive green. It adds texture, architectural height and drama to dull, lifeless flowerbeds and borders – along with making excellent focal points in containers. As it matures you will witness a small, palm tree-like shrub, it will grow in height to 4m and spread to around 1.5m. Ideal for adding to coastal gardens, this hardy evergreen is a popular low maintenance choice that adds lots of garden interest all year round. Cordyline ‘Southern Splendour’ bears sword-shaped variegated leaves coloured olive green and bright pink. Grow on in frost free conditions and acclimatise to the outdoors over 7-10 days before planting out. Grow Cordylines on fertile, well drained soil. Choose a sheltered position in full sun. Cordylines are particularly well suited to mild coastal locations but do enjoy a fertile soil, so it is well worth incorporating some well rotted manure into the soil when planting.
