Pittosporum tenuifolium Tom Thumb has black stems covered in small burgundy-black leaves, new growth emerges light green, making an interesting contrast with the darker, mature foliage, it is a rounded branching shrub that remains neat and compact.

Grow Pittosporum in any rich,fertile but well drained soil. Choose a position with shelter from cold winter winds in sun or semi shade – the best leaf colour will be produced when grown in full sun.
