‘Encore Pure White’ is a showy new Azalea, that is ready to flower from May until October. It generates masses of pearly white, trumpet-shaped blooms, that top a bushy, yet compact growing habit of fresh green foliage. Great for growing in patio pots, cottage, scented and woodland gardening schemes, keep positioned in semi shade and watch it flourish to a height and spread of 75cm. This generous Azalea delivers two bursts of flowers with just a short pause in between, first in spring and again from late summer to autumn. Grow Azaleas in moist, well drained, acid soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted organic matter. Choose a position in semi or dappled shade with shelter from cold drying winds. Many azaleas can cope with a sunny position provided that the soil remains reliably moist. Where soil conditions are alkaline, Azalea plants are best grown in patio containers, using a mix of ericaceous compost and a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Azaleas are surface rooting so it is important to avoid planting them too deeply.
