Caltha palustris subsp. Polypetala is an elegant hardy perennial, that is much adored for its striking golden flowers, that will appear from April until July. Each cup-shaped, glossy green leaflet is happy to be submerged, requiring little maintenance and offering a safe place for insects to rest. Ideal for planting in water gardens and bogs, try also incorporating by pond edges and keep positioned in semi shade. It will progress to a maximum height and spread of 90cm. Grow Caltha plants in fertile, boggy soil at the edge of ponds and streams or submerged in water to a maximum depth of 20cm (8″). Marsh Marigolds thrive in sun or semi-shade.
