An incredible evergreen shrub with a compact habit which is ideal for large pots, woodland gardens and mixed borders. Camellia ‘Cupido’ boasts showy red stems with deep pink buds that burst into colour from March to May, creating a wonderful display of dainty white blooms with a hint of pink. This stunning Camellia makes an excellent specimen plant and will need acid soil but will thrive just as well in a large pot with ericaceous compost.Height: 150cm (59″). Spread: 75cm (30″).Culinary note: The flowers can be used as garnishes but are also dried and then cooked in Asian cuisine. For more details about edible flowers click here. Camellia plants require a moist, well drained, acid soil in a sheltered, shaded position. In areas where acid soil does not naturally occur, grow Camellia plants in patio containers using a mix of ericaceous compost and John Innes No. 3 and position in dappled shade.
