This compact Hydrangea is much loved for its delicate pink and blue blooms. They will appear in neat clusters from July until October and work well against its large, emerald green, glossy leaflets. ‘Hortbux Blue & Pink’ makes fabulous floral hedging, it stands out in borders and patio pots, whilst slotting in neatly to woodland areas, cut flower and cottage gardening schemes. It likes to grow quickly and looks its best when planted in a partially shaded spot. Whatever size your outdoor space, this neat little shrub will fit in, growing to 50cm in height and spread. Hydrangea macrophylla prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any rich fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Alternatively plant hydrangea macrophylla in patio containers in soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3.
