‘Purpurascens’ is a superb new Miscanthus, that is much loved for its grassy foliage in shades of mauve, pink and green. Creating movement, drama and texture wherever placed, it would sit well in a cottage, low maintenance or cut flower gardening scheme. Happy to progress in direct sunlight, watch it thrive to a height of 1.5m, along with a spread of 1m. Grow Miscanthus grass in fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun. Miscanthus Grass may resent soils that sit wet in winter. Prior to planting, improve drainage on particularly heavy soils by incorporating plenty of well rotted compost and grit.
