An excellent plant for drought prone areas, Calamintha features a long-flowering season, nectar rich blooms and aromatic foliage. From midsummer to the end of autumn, Calamintha nepeta produces loose sprays of small lilac flowers above bushy clumps of downy, grey-green foliage with a minty aroma. The leaves can be used as a culinary herb or for herbal teas. Excellent as a ground cover perennial where its informal habit will soften borders edges and attract a wealth of beneficial insects.
