Shop and save big Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Amethyst’Oak-leaved Hydrangea

‘Amethyst’ is a gorgeous hardy shrub, that flowers from July until October. It produces bundles of maroon-coloured blooms, that form in delicate panicles, above a compact growing habit of oak-shaped, green-purple leaflets. Place in dappled shade and watch it thrive to a height of 2m, along with a spread of 1.8m. This rare variety is a lovely twist on the ordinary white-flowered form of Hydrangea quercifolia. Hydrangea quercifolia prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any rich fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply.
