A stunning early flowering perennial, commonly known as Bearded Iris. Iris germanica ‘Rose de Perse’ boasts large, shell pink blooms with purple, frilly, veined falls which appear above tidy, strap-like foliage. It will be sure to create a showy display in your sunny garden borders throughout May and June and also makes a stunning cut flower vase display.Height: 90cm (35in). Spread: 30cm (12in). The sumptuous colours of Iris germanica ‘Rose de Perse’ will have you swooning. A sunny position in well drained soil is ideal for growing iris. Bearded iris rhizomes prefer an open position where the rhizomes can bake in the summer sun, without being shaded by other plants. These perennials require a very free draining soil, so amend heavy clay soils with plenty of grit and well rotted manure prior to planting. When planting iris, ensure that the rhizome sits just at the soil surface as they are prone to rot if planted too deeply.
