Peony Buckeye Belle features deep wine-red, semi-double blooms with striking golden anthers, set against lush, green, divided foliage. This herbaceous peony is celebrated for its rich colour, delightful fragrance, and the full, bowl-shaped flowers formed by dense, layered petals. Hardy and long-lasting, it’s a perfect addition to cottage garden borders and makes a beautiful cut flower. Height and spread: 90cm (35in). Bareroots should be planted at the earliest opportunity following delivery. Grow peonies in a sunny or semi shaded position on fertile, moist, well drained soil. Peony plants prefer a heavy soil that is rich in organic matter. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost prior to planting. Plant herbaceous peonies so that the top of the crown is just 5cm (2”) below the soil surface, taking care not to plant too deeply as this may prevent or delay peonies from flowering.
