‘Yakushimanum Soft Pink’ is a striking Rhododendron that boasts large baby pink flowers from April until July. Perfect for growing in those smaller sized gardens, your hardy shrub is much loved for its compact dwarf growing habit and sits wonderfully in patio pots and borders. Great for growing in semi shade, its funnel shaped blooms will contrast elegantly against its glossy green mounds of foliage and create a dramatic focal point. It will grow in height to 100cm and will spread to around 150cm. Grow Rhododendrons in moist, well drained, acid soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted organic matter. Choose a position in semi or dappled shade with shelter from cold drying winds. Many dwarf Rhododendrons can cope with a sunny position provided that the soil remains reliably moist. Where soil conditions are alkaline, Rhododendron plants are best grown in patio containers, using a mix of ericaceous compost and a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Rhododendrons are surface rooting so it is important to avoid planting them too deeply.
