Shop for less, enjoy more Astrantia major ‘Moulin Rouge’Hattie’s Pincushion, Masterwort

‘Moulin Rouge’ is a fabulous perennial that brings diversity, texture and vibrancy to dull outdoor spaces. From June until September, this Astrantia will produce bundles of ruby red pincushion flowers that sit upon lengthy green stems and loose clumps of foliage. Fantastic for adding to borders, cottage, cut flower, woodland and wildlife gardening schemes, its glossy leaflets will add some drama and attraction wherever placed. Position in partial shade and watch it develop in height to 45cm, along with a spread of 30cm. Plant in fertile, moist, well drained soil, in full sun or semi shade. Add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting, and water plants well until established.
