The unique peachy hue of Hyacinth ‘Gypsy Queen’ is sure to catch the eye. Its warm colours and strong, captivating fragrance bring instant sunshine and joy to the spring garden. Plant these lovely blooms in groups in borders or patio pots, or force them indoors for a fragrant display during the colder months. ‘Gypsy Queen’ makes a stunning statement on its own or paired with a dark variety for a striking contrast. This variety has earned the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Height: 20cm (8″) Spread: 15cm (6″)

Grow hyacinths in moist, fertile well drained soil in sun or semi shade. Plant hyacinth bulbs approximately 10cm (4″) deep and at a distance of 8cm (3″) apart. To grow hyacinths for indoor displays, plant them in containers of bulb fibre or potting compost with the tip of the bulb just visible above the soil surface. Position them in a cool garage or other well ventilated, dark position at a maximum temperature of 7°C (44°F) for around 6 weeks. Water bulbs only when necessary in order to keep the compost moist. When the growing shoots reach a height of 3cm (1″), move the containers to a cool bright position indoors. Water container-grown hyacinths with care. Avoid over wetting the compost or allowing it to dry out. After flowering, indoor displays can be planted out doors where they will bloom the following spring. Hyacinths that are planted outdoors are virtually maintenance free. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
