‘Summer Breeze Rose’ is a wonderful perennial that is ready to harvest from June until October. It produces clusters of fresh, ruby red strawberries that cascade from neat mounds of deep green, glossy foliage. From May until September, you will witness masses of double, bright red flowers that top its lustrous leaflets, it creates high ornamental value and makes a showy stand-alone plant. This Fragaria would work well incorporated into border edges, patio containers and window boxes. Its delicious fruits are perfect for adding to desserts and can even be eaten straight from the shrub! Your Strawberry plant will develop in height to 20cm, along with a spread of 30cm. Plant strawberry plants in autumn or late spring in a sheltered, sunny position in well manured, free draining soil. Plant strawberry plants every 45cm (18”) in rows spaced at 75cm (30”) apart. Avoid planting them too deeply as this may cause them to rot. Alternatively try growing strawberry plants in hanging baskets or in specially designed strawberry planters for the patio.
