Hebe rakaiensis is a charming evergreen shrub with a rounded, dense habit, forming a low cushion of glossy green leaves. In early summer, it is adorned with clusters of short, white flower spikes that attract pollinators. Its compact, tidy shape makes it an excellent choice for oriental garden designs, rockeries, and the front of sunny borders, providing year-round colour and structure. This RHS Award of Garden Merit variety is particularly well-suited for coastal or urban gardens due to its resilience to salt and air pollution. Height: 100cm (39″). Spread: 120cm (48″). Grow Hebe plants in moist, well drained, light sandy soil. Avoid planting Hebes on acid soils. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade and sheltered from strong winds.
