‘Otto Luyken’ is a wonderful new Prunus, that is ready to flower from March to May. It produces masses of frothy white blooms, that elegantly decorate a bushy growing habit of shiny green foliage. Happy to progress in partial shade, be sure to incorporate into cottage and low maintenance gardening schemes, as well as using as an attractive hedge. Watch it develop to a height of 100cm, along with a spread of 150cm. The Cherry Laurel, Prunus laurocerasus ‘Otto Luyken,’ has the most beautiful shiny dark green foliage. Grow Cherry Laurel plants in sun or shade, in any moderately fertile, reliably moist, well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Prunus shrubs at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil. When planting a Cherry Laurel hedge, position the individual plants at a distance of 75cm (2’,6”) apart.
