‘Papageno’ is a fantastic variety, that is much adored for its elegant appearance and natural herbal remedies to a range of different skin conditions. It produces bundles of silk, purple flower heads from April until June, that top a clump forming habit of fine, fluffy looking green foliage. A wonderful addition to alpine, coastal and cottage themed landscapes, be sure to keep it positioned in direct sunlight where it can flourish to a height and spread of 20cm. Best known as Pasqueflower, Pulsatilla vulgaris subsp. grandis ‘Papageno’ is a real gem in spring for the rock garden or patio planting scheme. This hardy perennial will cope with winter whether given a gritty, free-draining soil. Grow Pulsatilla on fertile, well drained soil in full sun. Pasque Flowers resent wet soils, so add some grit to the soil where necessary, prior to planting. Choose a location where they won’t be disturbed as Pusatilla dislike root disturbance once established.
