Catmint is a hard working plant for any cottage garden.
Walkers Low deserves its RHS AGM, with a low growing spread of silvery-green, scented foliage, it is ideal for growing at the edge of borders, for ground cover, edging paths and planting in wildlife areas.
Deep mauve-purple flowers from early summer, if cut back after the first blooms, it will continue to autumn.
The strong, minty/spicy flavoured flowers can be used economically in pasta or rice dishes.
