‘Continental’ is a striking new Tulip, that is ready to bloom from April until June. It generates a profusion of rich maroon flowers, that elegantly top a clump forming habit of fresh green foliage. Perfect for incorporating into patio pots, borders, cut flower and cottage gardening schemes, this bold variety will most definitely add texture and drama to dull outdoor spaces. Keep positioned in partial shade, where it will progress to a height of 45cm, along with a spread of 15cm. Single, Triumph tulip with rich and velvety chocolate-maroon cup-shaped blooms that have a wonderful, silky sheen. Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6″) and at a distance of 13cm (5″) apart.
