‘Sweet Surprise’ is a gorgeous Agapanthus, that is ready to flower from June until September. It produces masses of dome shaped blooms, that are a striking pastel blue in colour. They sit neatly upon lengthy slender stems and decorate a clump forming growing habit of fresh green foliage. Perfect for adding into containers and borders, watch your hardy shrub instantly incorporate vibrancy, texture and architectural height into your outdoor space this season. Happy to develop in semi shade, it will progress in height to 60cm, along with a spread of 50cm. Agapanthus ‘Sweet Surprise’ sports umbels of pale blue flowers between late June and August. Each flower has a charming star-shape once opened fully and a dark blue stripe down the centre of each petal. With stiff, upright stems that rise above clumps of strap-like, semi-evergreen foliage, it is perfect as ground cover. Being low maintenance, African Blue Lilies are robust and resilient. A neat and compact variety , it is ideal for for cheering up up patio pots and the architectural flowers are perfect at the front of perennial borders. It also makes a good cut flower. Height: 60cm (24″). Spread: 50cm (20″). Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .
