‘Twister’ is a stunning hardy tree, that is ready to bloom from February to April. It produces bundles, of lemon-coloured catkins, that elegantly hang from robust, twirling branches, amongst a bushy, yet compact growing habit of fresh green foliage. Its heart shaped leaflets create an eye-catching focal point and add vibrancy to dull outdoor spaces. Perfect for growing in kitchen, cottage and woodland gardening schemes, be sure to keep it positioned in semi shade where it can thrive to a height and spread of 150cm. Hardy deciduous shrub grown for its attractive twisted stems (hence its name) forming yellow male catkins February – March. Heart shaped, toothed, mid green leaves are up to 10cm (4″) long. Slow growing, of more compact, bushy habit than most Corylus avellana varieties and could be grown in a large patio container in sun or part shade, or planted in a shrub border. Prefers a fertile, well-drained chalky soil. Height: 150cm(59″). Spread: 150cm (59″). Grow Hazel plants in any fertile, well drained soil in full sun or semi-shade. Varieties with coloured foliage will be at thjeir best when grown in full sun. Corylus tolerates alkaline soils well, making it useful in chalky areas.
