‘Centennial Gold’ is a stunning new Rhododendron, that is ready to flower from May until July. It generates an abundance of lemon-coloured blooms, that each boast a maroon speckled throat. They beautifully top a semi-dwarf growing habit of bushy green foliage and will turn heads wherever placed. Easy to care for yet impactful in appearance, be sure to incorporate into those smaller sized, tropical and woodland themed gardens, as well as contemporary patio pots. Happy to develop in semi shade, watch it thrive to a height of 1m, along with a spread of 75cm. Yakushimanum hybrids are a group of semi-dwarf Rhododendrons that are perfect for containers and small gardens. Grow Rhododendrons in moist, well drained, acid soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted organic matter. Choose a position in semi or dappled shade with shelter from cold drying winds. Many dwarf Rhododendrons can cope with a sunny position provided that the soil remains reliably moist. Where soil conditions are alkaline, Rhododendron plants are best grown in patio containers, using a mix of ericaceous compost and a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Rhododendrons are surface rooting so it is important to avoid planting them too deeply.
