Rudbeckia fulgida var. deamii is a robust perennial that blooms from late Summer to early Autumn. It produces bundles of bright yellow daisies that each feature a central chocolate brown cone, borne upon lengthy, slender green stems. Its hairy, deep green leaflets form in bushy clusters and look fabulous in borders, flowerbeds and cottage gardening schemes. Position in full sun and watch it thrive to a height of 60cm, along with a spread of 45cm. Rudbeckia fulgida var. deamii is a classic, prairie plant, renowned for its free-flowering nature and sturdy constitution. Grow rudbeckia plants in sun, in fertile, preferably heavy soil that is rich in organic matter and well drained. Coneflowers resent drought and dislike soils that dry out in summer.
