‘Royal Palace Doubles’ is a combination of Tulipa, that blooms from April until June. It includes six of our most popular Tulip varieties, that offer a mixture of double, fragrant, vibrant flowers, all sitting above a compact mound of fresh green foliage. Tulip ‘Royal Palace Doubles’ Collection contains 30 bulbs, 5 of each of the following varieties:

• Tulip ‘Queensday’ – Peony-flowered tulip with fully double blooms in bold orange blushed with raspberry pink and pale gold. Height: 45cm (18″). Spread: 15cm (6″).
• Tulip ‘Mondial’ – Dwarf early tulip flowering in April with giant, peony-like double white flowers with a soft yellow centre that have a gentle fragrance. Superb for mixing with other colours. Height: 35cm (14in).  Spread: 10cm (4in).
• Tulip ‘Amazing Grace’ – Colour-changing tulip with voluminous, petal-pack blooms emerging lavender-pink and deepening to lavender rose as they age. Fantastic paired with Tulip ‘Copper Image’. Height: 35cm (14in).  Spread: 10cm (4in).
• Tulip ‘Copper Image’ – Luminous shades of copper, suffused with rose pink, glow from within a densely petalled bowl. The soft orange tones blend easily with other hues and provide gorgeous colour accents without being at all garish. Short enough to be useful for both containers as well as in borders, Height: 40cm (16”). Spread: 10cm (4”).
• Tulip ‘Double Flag’ – Beautifully shaped, fully double flowers in a rich shade of mauve-purple. This delightful variety adds a luxurious feel to late spring gardens. Height: 40cm (16″). Spread: 10cm (4″)
• Tulip ‘Secret Perfume’ – Peony-flowered tulip with voluptuous, rounded golden blooms and a surprisingly good perfume. Tulips aren’t normally noted for their scent but this one certainly breaks that mould! Height: 50cm (20″). Spread: 10cm (4″).

How to grow bulbs, corms and tubers 

Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6″) and at a distance of 13cm (5″) apart.
