Quercus robur is a variety of Oak, that is incredibly easy to grow and maintain as a hedging solution in gardens. Wildlife, insects and birds love the foliage, as well as the acorns that form in late summer months. Birds will happily nest in the dense foliage and robust branching framework. Easy to keep its shape, Quercus robur responds well to trimming and shaping. Ideal for mixing into native hedging schemes. Height: 12m (39′). Spread: 8m (26′). Planting distance: 45cm (18″). (3 plants per metre for a single line hedge). Plant Oak into any moist, but well-drained soil in full sun or dappled shade. Can be grown as hedging, or as a stand-alone tree, but plant out with an awareness of the final size of the tree.
