PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Known by many as the high wheel or the ordinary, the Penny Farthing was the first machine bicycle. Popular in the 1870s, the large front wheel provided high speeds and greater distances travelled, whilst also creating comfort thanks to absorbing shock levels created by uneven roads and pavements. Almost obsolete a decade later, new and smaller models were safer, mainly due to the height from which they fell. Crafted from high quality steel and finished in a sleek midnight black finish, a man rides atop of a Penny Farthing complete with bowl hat. Highly detailed throughout, each spindle on the two wheels can be seen, as can the finger detailing which grip the handlebars. Complete with fletched arrow, directional arms, and universal bracket, this weathervane is ideal for those who love traditional aspects.
