‘Doubles Collection’ is a wonderful Tulipa mix, that incorporates six of our most popular varieties. Blooming from April until June, you will witness a profusion of vibrantly coloured flowers, that each offer unique qualities; such as; fringing, tricolour and double. Peony-like and huge in size, be sure to incorporate within borders, patio pots and cottage themed landscapes for a profusion of colour and texture! Position in semi shade and watch them thrive to a maximum height of 60cm, along with a maximum spread of 10cm. Arguably the most indulgent of tulips, these double varieties feature multiple layers of silky petals composed into a bowl-shaped, peony-like flower. Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6″) and at a distance of 13cm (5″) apart.
