‘Dusty Miller’ is a striking Rhododendron, that is ready to bloom from May until July. It generates a profusion of creamy pink flowers, that beautifully cloak a compact, rounded growing habit of silver-green leaflets. Easy to care for yet bold in appearance, be sure to incorporate into woodland and cottage themed landscapes, as well as using as a strong stand-alone shrub. Happy to develop in semi shade, watch it thrive to a height and spread of 100cm. This superb Yakushimanum hybrid is perfect for small gardens with lime-free soil and for container planting in small growing spaces such as courtyards and terraces. Grow Rhododendrons in moist, well drained, acid soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted organic matter. Choose a position in semi or dappled shade with shelter from cold drying winds. Many dwarf Rhododendrons can cope with a sunny position provided that the soil remains reliably moist. Where soil conditions are alkaline, Rhododendron plants are best grown in patio containers, using a mix of ericaceous compost and a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Rhododendrons are surface rooting so it is important to avoid planting them too deeply.
