Glyceria maxima var. variegate is an attractive marginal aquatic, that is much loved for its variegated cream and yellow foliage. Each slender leaflet arches gracefully and forms in a tight clump. Easy to care for and producing a flurry of purple blooms from June until August, you can plant this hardy perennial within bogs and water gardens. It will remain happy in direct sunlight and progress to a height of 80cm, along with a spread of 100cm. Grow Glyceria in the margins of ponds with the crown submerged to a maximum depth of up to 25cm (10″) below water level. Choose a position in full sun.
