High quality at a low price Campanula portenschlagiana ‘Catharina’Dalmation bellflower, Wall bellflower ‘Catharina’

‘Catharina’ is a pretty new Campanula, that is ready to flower from June until September. It produces a profusion of violet-blue blooms, that smother a low growing mound of fresh green foliage. Much loved for its carpet forming habit, its attractive heart shaped leaflets along with bell-shaped blooms will create an evergreen carpet and make attractive ground cover. Great for planting in patio containers, rockeries and borders, be sure to also position at the edge of walls where it can gracefully tumble as an elegant focal point. Happy to progress in dappled shade, watch it thrive to a height of 20cm, along with a spread of 30cm. . Grow Campanula portenschlagiana in a well-drained soil where it will not sit wet in winter. This cultivar spreads less than the species but may need to be kept in check if planted near delicate alpines. No maintenance required, though plants can be trimmed back after flowering to keep a tidy, compact habit.
