Scabiosa ‘Blue’ produces pincushion blooms on slender stems which will move gently in the breeze and add a wonderful splash of colour to your garden throughout the summer. A simple to grow variety which you can rely on to create a beautiful display in patio pots and at the front of sunny borders. Pot up plants using free-draining compost, and grow scabious on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. Once they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting them outdoors. Choose a sunny position on fertile, well drained, neutral to alkaline soil that is not excessively wet in winter.
